Text Reminders Help People Lower Cholesterol, Blood Pressure
Each week it seems that there is a new mobile application designed to improve lives in a vague way. It turns out that receiving text messages can help improve the health of heart disease patients. The texts messages ranged from helpful advice on healthy choices to reminders to take medication. Another group that text messages have found to help is pregnant women which is supported by CDC's Text4baby program.

Workplace Wellness Programs: Early Alarm for Worker's Health Or A Recipe For Over-Testing?
Many companies are offering reduced health insurance premiums for participating in a workplace wellness program. New research conducted by Rand Corporation found that the majority of programs relied on biometrics that are one size fits all. Further, since the company conducts the testing, results are never shared with employees' doctors negating the usefulness in clinical care and raising privacy concerns.

ICF to participate in CDC Information Management Systems (CIMS) Industry Day
The CDC will host the 2015 CIMS Industry Day on November 16th from 8:30 am- 4:00 pm at the CDC Chamblee campus on Buford Highway. This event is hosted by the Acquisition Program Management Office (APMO) and the Office of Acquisition Services (OAS, formerly PGO), and provides representatives from all CDC centers, institutes, and office programs with an opportunity to meet CIMS contractors and learn more about contractors' capabilities and services. "The CIMS contract vehicles provides ICF with diverse technology and management service opportunities," said ICF Vice President Randy Rutledge. ICF to Provide Health Informatics Support to CDC Fellowship Program
ICF International was recently awarded a new task order by the CDC, Center for Surveillance, Epidemiology, and Laboratory Services, Division of Scientific Education and Professional Development (DSEPD). ICF will facilitate the development, delivery and maintenance of systems that support DSEPD's fellowship activities and ensure these systems are readily accessible to the global public health community. This includes managing two of its most critical systems: the Fellowship Management System and the Training and Continuing Education Online System. Read more here

ICF to Provide Digital Media Support Services to CDC and Its Partners
ICF International was recently awarded a new multiple-award flexible ordering agreement (FOA) by the CDC to provide digital media solutions and support services to the agency and its partner. Under the agreement, ICF will provide comprehensive support for CDC's digital tools, presence and systems including all websites on CDC.gov as well as its social media and digital communications, public relations and cloud services. This incudes designing, building and managing content, making interactive all digital communications channels and adapting CDC's current infrastructure toward a more mobile communications environment. ICF to Provide Health Informatics Support to Critical HIV/AIDS Surveillance and Outbreak Preparedness Programs
ICF International was recently awarded one new and one re-compete task order by the CDC. Under the new task order with the National Center for HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and TB Prevention, Division of HIV and AIDS Prevention, ICF will provide operations, maintenance and technical support (eHARS), CDC's surveillance system for reporting and monitoring the HIV/AIDS epidemic in the United States. The re-compete task order is with the Center for Surveillance, Epidemiology and Laboratory Services. ICF will provide data exchange and laboratory Informatics services to support the Laboratory Response Network (LRN), a global network of public health- related laboratories. ICF will supply the information technology and systems support needed to allow rapid collection, standardized data exchange and analysis of quality data.

Tribal Evaluation Specialist- Atlanta, GA: The Public Health Division seeks a Tribal Evaluation Specialist to support evaluation tasks and provide evaluation techinical assistance grantees implementing the Comprehensive Approach to Good Health and Wellness in Indian Country (GHWIC) program. Basic Qualifications: Master's degress, 3 years of experience in the field of research and/or evaluation, experience working with tribes and tribal organizations.

Data Manager/Statistician- Rockville, MD: The Survery Research Division seeks a Data Manager/Statistician to support research projects related to survey research activities including supporting health and education surveys. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degrees, 10 years of experience, which includes working as a SAS programmer and experience working with multi-site cross sectional or longitudinal studies.

Digital Communications Leader- Atlanta, GA: ICF is seeking a Digital Communications Leader to build and oversee the Digital Communications portfolio with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Basic Qaulifications: At least 5+ years of recent experience leading and growing a portfolio with CDC with demonstrated experience across several CDC centers that include deep and current contacts. 8+ years leading projects and 15+ years of demonstrated sucess in a project-based consulting environment.
